Our Mission
We strive to foster warm, lasting relationships with the pet community of South Central Kentucky while providing the best emergency care possible at an affordable price.
When Your Vet is Closed, We’re Open
When your regular vet is closed or unable to see you, we’re here to provide emergency care for dogs and cats across Kentucky and Tennessee. As an after-hours clinic, we focus solely on urgent care—not routine visits. Call us with any questions, we’re here to help!
Locally Owned, Community Focused
BGVEC is locally owned by three trusted veterinarians who are deeply rooted in the Bowling Green area. While they continue to serve the community through their practices, our emergency clinic is here to ensure your pets have access to care when it’s needed most. We take pride in supporting the pet families of Kentucky and Tennessee with the same commitment and compassion that defines our local community.
Partnering with Advanced Surgical Care Specialists
At BGVEC, we proudly collaborate with Bowling Green Veterinary Surgical Specialists (BGVSS) to provide expert surgical services. Located in the same facility, BGVSS operates independently, offering specialized, appointment-only procedures to ensure that your pet receives the focused care they deserve from a team of skilled surgeons.
Dr. Cristy Ellis, a native of Mississippi, brings over 40 years of veterinary experience to our team. She earned her veterinary degree from Mississippi State University in 1994 and spent three years as a relief vet in Northeast Mississippi before opening her own small animal practice. After ten years as a practice owner, she and her husband relocated to Murfreesboro, TN. Dr. Ellis is passionate about providing compassionate care for pets and is thrilled to join the BGVEC team. Outside of work, she enjoys playing golf, traveling, and spending time with her family, including her three sons, a daughter, two daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren.
